Flash Forever IKS firmware to your GTmedia V8X with USB disc

With this guide, you can make the Forever IKS function enabled on your GTmedia V8X.
Flash Forever IKS firmware Via USB
Download the Forever IKS firmware file and copy it to your USB discInsert your USB disc into a USB port of your GTMedia V8XMake sure the option of Upgrade Mode is All Code, select the correct upgrade file, and Start the upgrade
Please select Yes to burn flash, and your GTMedia V8X will reboot
Your GTMedia V8X needs to be connected to the Internet, you can use RJ45 cable, of course, you can also use a WiFi network
Here, we use a WiFi network
Make your GTMedia V8X connected to the network successfully
Go to the main screen of your GTMedia V8X, and you should find the About STB icon
Please go to the About STB screen, and write down the Serial Number of your GTMedia V8X. On this, if you need the Forever IKS service, please feel free to contact us and send your Serial Number to us
Once your Forever IKS service is activated, you can go to the Server Setting menu to connect and enable it
Please kindly note that the GTMedia V8X has two models of H/W Version, and currently only V1.00 is workable with the Forever IKS function. And for V0.1 of the H/W Version, it will be enabled soon.

Will Forever work as I flash it or is it necessary to pay for the service?

Just V8X with V1.00 HW version is supported for Forever IKS. And the device with HW 0.1 is currently not supported for Forever IKS.
And flashing this new firmware just makes your V1.00 HW V8X available for Forever IKS function, and it does not include any service. And if it is SOLOVOX 9000, it includes 15 Months of Forever IKS service by default.
About Forever IKS for HW 0.1 V8X, to be frank, we currently have no definite date.

Unzip and you can get a bin file named GTMedia_V8X_V325_20221206.bin, copy the bin file to your USB’s root directory and insert it into the V8X device, Upgrade Mode is All Code, select the correct upgrade file, and Start the upgrade.
I did so, but the menu is totally different from this “android similar” one.

I just bought a gtmedia V8 UHD and need wla firmware update with North American channels and that will allow me to enter an iks server, port and names. I bought this hoping it would replace my Dreamlink T5, which died. Can anyone help?
